“The EX-Factor.
Dropped by Nan Hua High School, my alma mater this Saturday for my CCA - NPCC's Promotion Test. Once again, I was entranced into a state of nostalgia. New hangouts and facilities have sprung up around the school coupled with their LCD TV Flat Screen information boards in the canteen. Was envisaging myself in the form of my juniors running around in their uniforms etc...fond memories.
Saw my fellow classmate, Ka Wing today who's also back for his Table Tennis Club's 10th Anniversary. Honestly, I thought Nan Hua's Table Tennis Club had been around for longer than 10 years but oh well. As for NPCC, we're definitely older than 10 years. If my memory serves me well, NPCC has been around since the 1970s in Nan Hua and that amounts to approximately 40 plus years. Maybe NPCC can have an alumni gathering in conjunction with Nan Hua High School's 100th Anniversary in a few years time?
Had a great time catching up with my CCA Teacher-In-Charge, Mrs Lee. Discussed a variety of issues and again, many teachers are leaving the school for greener pastures elsewhere. Many of my teachers who taught me years ago have already left. During the discussion, we talked about the educational trips that students nowadays get to enjoy. How lucky are they! From Malaysia to China and to Nepal. In my time, going to Malaysia is itself a luxury. Seems like things just get better for the younger generations. Even my cousins have been to Europe i.e. France/England on a full expenses paid trip by the school!
The weekend just past had been packed for me. Catching up with family and friends. And was just in time to attend my grandmother's birthday at the Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant. Stayed up late to catch up on my fix of English Premier League action and I was not left disappointed. Man City VS Newcastle plus Swansea VS Man Utd. Finally on Sunday, Chelsea VS Liverpool's game lived up to its billing as Chelsea's ex-player Glen Johnson came back to haunt his old club. Fast paced football with tackles and nudges flying all over the pitch. EPL, EPL you are really the beautiful game!
So quickly, my first few days back in Singapore have passed by like a breeze. As I look forward to the upcoming week, I cannot help but feel excited about doing an internship, having lacked job experience compared to my peers. Just hope that everything will turn out fine and that I can settle in well into my internship:)
