“'News Ltd' axed in major Murdoch rebranding

So so so...after all the hoo-hah that came out of the phone hacking scandal, News Ltd is trying its very best to clean up its act. Or so it seems...
Come early next year, "News Ltd" will go into the history books and be replaced by "News Australia". Good move or bad move? It seems to reek of the same, old News Ltd no matter how they rebrand it...ewh!...utterly distasteful!
They remain the key media conglomerate monopolizing (or almost) the media in Australia and the world. In my opinion, as long as they control a large portion of the world's media, their power is hard to be curtailed and will certainly be back to its old ways once the scandal has died down. This rebranding campaign is all but paying lip service to the public and the politicians who have lobbied for an inquiry into News Ltd's operations in Australia.
No matter how much you rebrand yourself, if you don't change your ways of news gathering, rebranding will only serve as a redundant effort. The public have become more critical of News Ltd in recent years and their past record hardly does them any favours to win back the public.
So cumon News Ltd, surely you have to do better than this right? Anything related to "News bla bla bla" is in itself toxic to the max considering the fallout of the scandal in UK. So I would advise them to rid the News word entire from their company name and most importantly, change their way of operating. Being more transparent may help. The public is usually more forgiving of wrongdoers who are honest and repentant rather than dishonest and recalcitrant.
As it seems, News Ltd has its work cut out and my bet on this rebranding campaign is that it will fail greatly UNLESS some drastic measures are undertaken. Let us wait and see...
