Rovio has blazed the trail since its first Angry Birds game hit the screens of our mobile smart phones. Tying up with Finnair, they are set to launch the ONE & ONLY Angry Birds themed flight from Helsinki to Singapore tomorrow where the flight is set to arrive at Singapore's Changi Airport at 4.10pm.
Being an avid Angry Birds fan myself, I cannot help but feel excited by the impending arrival of the plane into Singapore although I may be miles away in Melbourne. From Angry Birds mascots to Angry Birds menu to Angry Birds staff uniforms. You name it, they have it. Almost like a dream come true for all Angry Birds fans.
Apparently, an Angry Birds tournament will be conducted during the flight with updates channeled through Twitter. Unfortunately, only 6 have made it through for this Asian Challenge and will get the privilege to fight it out for the overall champion on the flight..All the best!
No one company has revolutionized air travel and game play as much as Finnair and Rovio, so really it's an eye-opener to see them tie up with each other for this publicity act.
Recently, Rovio found out about a Chinese theme park - Colourful World Amusement Park modeled after the Angry Birds game. Instead of pursuing a lawsuit against its Chinese counterparts, Rovio actually tied up with the theme park operators to better market their brand. HOW SMART is that move? VERY! Now, it seems that Rovio is reaping the benefits in terms of other peripheral merchandise etc from the Asian market.
No wonder it is the BEST selling mobile game!
Now with this much-publicized flight, I am confident that Angry Birds and other Rovio games will gradually gain a foothold in the much sought after Asian market. So Angry Birds fans, wait no longer as Rovio is getting more than interested to engage you and that can only be great for fans like myself. Hurray!
For those who are in the blur, the theme park in China is featured as follows:
