Apple of My Eye
(那些年,我們一起追的女孩)
- Giddens Film -

Watching the trailer of this movie brought me back to my years in secondary school and JC. Those years, as suggested in the movie, were the most memorable. As boys like myself always do, we tune ourselves to the "sights" available in class/in school. By "sights", I mean girls that catch our eye.

Up till today, I still don't know what it means to be in love/in a relationship as I've never been in one before. Many of my friends and even family have asked me when I'll find my girlfriend but I can't give them an answer. It's not so simple as in a YES or a NO. I have many girl friends but not one girlfriend unfortunately. I won't know when I'll meet my potential soulmate either and even if I already have, I won't know how to approach the girl.

It just baffles me every time when my friends get into a relationship and then break up. Not long after, another relationship unfolds. It seemed so easy for some guys to hook up girls but I just don't fit into that category.

Reason? Well, I am not a sweet-talker. I can't coax a girl or praise her to the skies. What was true in the movie and true in my case, is the fact that whenever I am with a girl (I think I like), I remain silent. My voice sort of disappears for that moment. In fact, I may even try to distant myself from the girl and watch from afar.

Physique wise? I ain't no muscular man or buff with huge muscles to charm the girls. I am skinny/lanky which doesn't exactly make myself appealing to girls nor give them a sense of security. The movie stated that girls like guys who are smarter than them. I'm not so sure how true this theory stands but the guys will definitely have more confidence if that were the case.

For now, I'll just have to wait for my potential soulmate to come knocking on my door and hopefully soon...If I were to be in a relationship, it has to be serious. I'm not into one for the sake of it. PS: Just hope my inexperience with relationships don't trip me up. Haha!

Before I sign off, I'd just want to say, "I WANT TO WATCH THAT MOVIE!"
