- Steve Jobs -

Sad to say that Steve Jobs has officially stepped down as CEO of Apple. Since the founding of Apple (his brainchild), he has brought to the world lots of fun and entertainment. His leadership and creative flair will be sorely missed by Apple and the world.

Although Jobs is still the Chairman of Apple, it is nonetheless a less active role. Speculation has been ongoing about his health since he "disappeared" from the media spotlight. Even at the last event launch of iPad 2, he looked frail and seemed like work was taking its toll on him. Perhaps he's suffering from a relapse of cancer? Perhaps the cancer has made his body weaker and exceptionally vulnerable to diseases such that a rest now is timely?

Perhaps. Perhaps. Leaving Apple at a time when it will be facing much stiffer competition from its rivals such as Google and Samsung, the shoes of Steve Jobs will certainly be hard to fill. In the coming months, Jobs' successor Tim Cook together with the team at Apple will have to rise up to the challenge. Having been under Jobs for so long, they should have picked up something from him.

Steve Jobs retirement does not negate his achievements for the tech world. It will be a tough ask to find a like for like replacement of Jobs but if Tim Cook can be at least 20% of the old Steve Jobs, I don't see why Apple cannot continue to be the trend setter in the tech world.

On this note, thank you Mr. Jobs for bringing the iPhones, iPads and MacBooks into our world! Here's wishing you the best of health & take care!
